The Patients with Osteoporosis in Bulgaria celebrate for the first time European Patients Rights’ Day

As a part of national activities organized and carried out by the three organizations, members of Active Citizenship Network – The Bulgarian Association for Patient's Rights Defense, Index Foundation and Association “Women without Osteoporosis”, patients with osteoporosis in Bulgaria celebrated for the first time Patients’ Rights Day on April 18, 2008.

The European Charter of Patients Rights was distributed to the existing 53 centers of osteoporosis in the country, working within the framework of the National Program for Limitation of Osteoporosis in Bulgaria and covering almost the whole territory of the country.

In addition, the branches of Association “Women without osteoporosis” in 10 towns of the country received the European Charter and special badges devoted to 18 April – Patients’ Right Day, and organized local activities for awareness of 14 patients rights. In the town of Russe, a mutual celebration of the First Patients’ Right Day was organized by the local branch of Association “Women without osteoporosis” and the Center of Osteoporosis at Diagnostic and Consulting Center 2 in the town.
