On 18th April some 3,000 leaflets: the European Charter of Patients’ Rights and a leaflet specifically on the Hungarian legislature concerning patients’ rights were distributed in 4 Medical Faculties.
In addition a letter was sent to the relevant national institutions about European Patients’ Rights Day, the initiative of the Charter and about how the 14 rights included in the Charter apply to the Hungarian legal system (16th of April). The following persons and institutions received our letter along with the Charter: the Prime Minister of Hungary, the Minister of Health, the President of Hungary, the floor leaders of the political parties which are represented in the Parliament, deans of the medical schools, Chairwoman and the vice-chairmans of the Parliament, Hungarian Chamber of Physicians, Parliamentary Commissioner of Civil Rights, Public Endowment Of Patients’, Children’s Rights, Medical Vocational Training and Continuing Professional Education Centre, The National Medical Officer, all the members of the
Parliamentary Committee of Health.
There was press release on the European Patients’ Rights Day on the 16th of April. As well as there was a short report on one of the state radio channels; and a short article has been published at www.50plusz.hu on Patients’Rights Day, referring to our website; other website has placed a link to our website news on Patients’ Rights Day (http://www.jogiforum.hu/hirek/17644),
