The 13th European Patients’ Rights Day (EPRD) will be celebrated at the European Parliament in Brussels by Active Citizenship Network (ACN) on April 2019.

The 2019 conference titled “Delivering patient value throughout the healthcare system” will have a twofold structure:

a multi-stakeholder event focused on A Debate on citizens' expectationson April 9th (12:30 - 15:00)
and
a mono-stakeholder event focused on “Digital Health and Personalized Medicine” on April 10th  (10:00 – 12:30).

National consultations: European active citizens for vaccination - 2019

National Civic consultations on the life-course immunization across Europe”

ACN, thanks to the work and cooperation of its constituency of national citizens’ organizations in various European countries, will bring together around the table different key people about the theme of vaccination: leaders of civic and patients association, healthcare professionals, policymakers and other possible stakeholders involved in each country in the administration of vaccines (these might also include representatives of the education system -for vaccination in schools- and unions/employers- for vaccination in the workplace).

#MakeWorkWork for those affected by Neurological Disorders and Chronic Pain Conditions

Active Citizenship Network supports the Written Declaration, under Rule 136 of Parliament’s Rules of Procedure, on access to employment for those affected by neurological disorders and chronic pain conditions. The initiative is promoted by the European Federation of Neurological Associations (EFNA) and Pain Alliance Europe (PAE) with the aim to encourage research into and access to innovative treatments, promote prevention and self-management approaches, decrease stigma and work together to improve quality of life for people living with these disabling conditions.

4 March 2016 - Improving patients’ rights in the age of the Cross Border Healthcare Directive

Active Citizenship Network organized a webinar-conference on 4 March 2016 in Rome, on the topic of “Improving patients’ rights in the age of the Cross Border Healthcare Directive”. The event involved online and on-the-spot participation of national and international experts to debate the European Directive on patients’ rights in cross-border healthcare and the current state of its implementation throughout Europe.
On this occasion, the communication campaign “Patients’ rights have no borders” has been presented for the first time.
