“Fight the Fakes”. In the second half of 2014, Cittadinanzattiva and its EU network, Active Citizenship Network, joined as Partner of Fight the Fakes, with a view to mobilising and supporting citizen organisations in the fight against dangerous fake medicines and working together to ensure patient safety.

As member of the Italian Committee promoter of the “Campagna005”, Cittadinanzattiva also promoted along 2014 the introduction of a tax on financial transactions (TTF) on each buying and selling of financial instruments. This tax was thought to discourage the opportunistic behaviors of the financial speculators who want to make money out of purchases and sales, doing thousands of operations in the same day and earning out of little prices fluctuations.
As a partner of the campaign, Cittadinanzattiva promoted along 2014 the activities carried out by Connect4Climate, a campaign, a coalition, and a community involved in climate change fighting. The EU campaign promoted by Active Citizenship Network during 2013 for the implementation of the Right of European Patients to make an informed choicein the framework of the implementation of the EU directive 2011/24/EU on cross border care.
“I’m a VIP, Very Invalid people” campaign promoted by Cittadinanzattiva at the national level in Italy along 2011 to better protect the rights’ of people affected by invalidity and to fight abuses towards disabled citizens. LINK
The 7th European Patients' Rights Day, realized by Active Citizenship Network in Brussels in May 2013, has been an occasion for all of us, representatives of national patient organizations, European platforms, EU and national institutions, representatives of healthcare providers etc. to share our experiences on the directive 2011/24/EU on cross border care and on patients' involvement in health policies on a multi-stakeholder basis.
Now it is time to start to work together on monitoring and actively participating in the transposition and implementation processes of the Directive, to make it a concrete example and best practice of patient participation in the health policy making. The Directive is an opportunity to enhance the rights of all European citizens with respect to healthcare services, since national citizens will also benefit from a number of provisions initially planned to protect the rights of cross-border patients.
