Since 2025: Cittadinanzattiva–ACN full member of the BBMRI-ERIC Stakeholder Forum
Cittadinanzattiva–Active Citizenship Network (ACN) is pleased to announce its admission on Nov 2025 as a full member of the BBMRI-ERIC Stakeholder Forum – Patients and Citizens’ Pillar. BBMRI-ERIC is the European research infrastructure for biobanking and biomolecular resources in health and life sciences, established in 2013. It brings together 25 Member and Observer countries, and enables access to more than 400 biobanks and 3,000 collections across a wide range of diseases, including cancer, rare diseases, paediatric conditions, and infectious diseases. The Stakeholder Forum is a space for active dialogue, sharing, and two-way communication, helping to convey the views of stakeholders and maintain trust between patients, civil society organisations, and the biobanking community. Becoming part of the Forum strengthens ACN’s long-standing commitment to promoting citizens’ and patients’ rights in biomedical research, ensuring transparency, trust, and meaningful engagement. Since 2025: Cittadinanzattiva APS-Active Citizenship Network joined the People Engagement Board of EP PerMed, the European Partnership for Personalised Medicine. This marks an important recognition and a valuable opportunity to actively contribute to the implementation of the EP PerMed Strategy to Foster People Engagement in Personalised Medicine: improving public and patient understanding, awareness, and empowerment AND strengthening meaningful engagement. EP PerMed established on 2024 a Citizen Engagement Board to advise on matters related to Citizen Engagement in Personalised Medicine. Read more

Since 2025: In coherence with its long lasting committement on the topic, Active Citizenship Network is glad to join SIP Stakeholder Forum, led and coordinated by European Pain Federation EFIC, the organisation representing healthcare professionals in the fields of pain management and pain science. The ‘Societal Impact of Pain’ (SIP) platform is a multi-stakeholder partnership led by the European Pain Federation EFIC and Pain Alliance Europe (PAE), which aims to raise awareness of pain and change pain policies.
