Active Citizenship Network partecipated in the virtual Multi-Stakeholder Consultations on the establishment of the Independent Panel on Evidence for Action against Antimicrobial Resistance (IPEA), organised by the AMR Multi-Stakeholder Partnership Platform under the Quadripartite (FAO, UNEP, WHO, WOAH), of which Cittadinanzattiva is member.
Opened to a broad spectrum of stakeholders—both members and non-members of the MSPP—from across the One Health sectors (human, animal, agrifood, and environment) and other relevant domains, and based on the Founding Document of the future IPEA, the consultations session gatherhed diverse input and perspectives on the draft founding document of IPEA, which aims to strengthen global evidence-based action against antimicrobial resistance, and to serve as a global mechanism to facilitate the generation and use of multisectoral, scientific evidence to support Member States in efforts to tackle antimicrobial resistance. In particular, the Director of ACN highlited the need to facilitate the global-local connection, starting from an incresing role of the intermediate bodies of the society (NGO, PAGs, CSOs) to be officially recognized in the national plan to fight AMR drafted by the national institutions.
