On 14 October, from 11:00 to 13:00, the position paper “Consumer Education in School Curricula: Challenges, Lessons Learned and Policy Recommendations from the CoRe Project” will be presented at the EU Parliament, hosted by Italian MEP Denis Nesci (European Conservatives and Reformists Group).

Developed within the framework of the CoRe – Consumer (Re)Generation project, the document brings together the main findings and lessons learned from the Italian pilot, which involved 16 schools, 35 classes, 667 students, 36 teachers and 583 parents across seven Italian regions.

Drawing on this experience, the position paper explores the opportunities and challenges linked to integrating consumer rights education into school curricula, while putting forward concrete policy recommendations for strengthening consumer education among younger generations.

The document is also the result of an 18-month process of dialogue and exchange with European stakeholders, who contributed at different stages of the project by sharing perspectives, experiences and recommendations.

The initiative, organized by Cittadinanzattiva as the final event of the EU-funded project CoRe, will provide an opportunity to discuss the project’s key findings and reflect on how consumer education can become a more structured and effective part of school education across Europe.

CoRe is a project by Cittadinanzattiva APS implemented in partnership with consumer associations EEKE (Greece) and InfoCons (Romania), with the support of iliad and co-funded by the European Union. For more information about the project, click here.
