The second webinar on the "Right to innovation: understanding personalised prevention in Europe", realized in the framework of the EU-funded project PROPFHET, took place on 10 of March 2026. Fine modulo More than 90 participants attended, with active discussions around innovation, personalised prevention, and the role of citizens and patients in making these approaches a reality.
A few key takeaways messages among others:
• Personalised prevention: better understanding of what it means in practice and how it differs from traditional prevention, with strong appreciation for concrete examples (BRCA, cardiovascular risk, pharmacogenomics)
• Right to innovation: innovation should be accessible, understandable, and beneficial for all citizens, not only for a few
• Citizens’ role: strong emphasis on awareness, trust, and engagement as essential conditions for implementation
Participants also raised relevant questions, particularly on:
• How to access personalised prevention in practice and where to start
• The role of healthcare professionals and the level of awareness among doctors
• The importance of psychological support and trust when dealing with risk information
