The EU-funded poject, CARES – Citizen Awareness and Resilience for Emergency Systems, has officially kicked off in Genoa, bringing together 21 partners from six European countries to develop more adaptive, inclusive and citizen-centred emergency preparedness systems.
The discussions reinforced one of the central ideas behind CARES: resilience cannot be built by institutions alone. Effective preparedness requires continuous dialogue, co-creation and shared ownership among authorities, first responders, researchers, communities and citizens.
As a project partner, Cittadinanzattiva will contribute its civic perspective, promoting co-produced safety, stronger recognition of civic participation in emergency planning, and a more inclusive approach that starts from the needs of the most vulnerable groups.
