Patients’ Voice Project is the first European Union funded project, implementing by the Universal Patient Rights Association (UPRA), that want to help to promote and advocate for patients’ rights in Northern Cyprus. It has become active since March 2016 as a partnership project between UPRA and Active Citizenship Network.

Project aims:

  • Overall Objective 1 – Strength integrity and dignity of patients in compliance with fundamental human rights
  • Overall Objective 2 – Enhance the quality of life of patients in the Turkish Cypriot community
  • Specific Objective – Decrease patients’ rights violations in the Turkish Cypriot Community

UPRA and ACN intend to achieve these through a set of activities aimed at capacity building of health care services providers, increasing awareness and respect of the public regarding patients’ rights, and promoting opportunities for networking between health-related civil society organizations (CSOs) and providers, and civic engagement.

The Project is guided by a Steering Committee made up of the Project stakeholder representatives which meets every month.
