Co-funded by the Health Programme of the European Union .
AHEAD addresses the challenge of medical deserts and medical desertification in Europe in an effort to reduce health inequalities. At the civil society and EU level, the ultimate impact is better access to health services, especially in underserved areas, and more equitable access to sufficient, skilled, and motivated health workers, starting with the countries involved in the Project: Romania, Serbia, Moldova, Italy (represented by Cittadinanzattiva/Active Citizenship Network) and the Netherlands. Cittadinanzattiva-ACN is the leader of WP6, which is about the Policy Dialogue at the national and EU level to ensure a joint reflection on practical, feasible, and acceptable policy measures to prevent and counteract medical deserts among national and European key stakeholders and relevant decision-makers.
